Renal Failure and breast cancer

I've got Stage 3 kidney disease due to antibiotics I was taking in 2010. Just found out a couple of days ago breast cancer is confirmed, have to get biopsy to determine specific type and sub-type. Does anyone know if treatments will affect my kidneys?

Really sorry to hear your news. The diagnosis can hit you like a bullet, total disorientating and shocking. Its a long journey and the treatment can be tough but its definitely doable. The most important thing is to look after yourself. Eat well, slap on the moisturiser, rest when you need to and don't feel uncomfortable about asking for help. We all need a bit of TLC at times.

Unfortunately I cannot help with your question. I am sure that the medics will be experienced in providing care in your particular circumstances.

Hi sorry to hear you have BC, it is a terrible shock to hear but once you know you can and will deal with it, everyone is different with regards to treatment to some degree, I had a lump removed in 2015 decided to go for mastectomy instead of lumpectomy as they said I wouldn’t have to have radiotherapy if I had mastectomy, and side effects from radiotherapy I didn’t particularly want if I could avoid, the cancer was not in my nodes so I didn’t need chemo, my cancer was ER+ which is the most common one, which I now just take a daily tablet to lower my estrogen.

So until you know type size etc it is not possible to know what treatment you can have with kidney problems, the professionals will be able to advise you.
