I had a double mastectomy in September 2015 luckily I did not need chemo/radiotherapy only Letrozole. I had my check up yesterday and do not need to go back for a year........FANTASTIC NEWS!! My question is when do I have a bone scan? Thank you in advance........kind regards to all you brave ladies who I think about every day Marina

Hi Marina, sorry I've only just seen your question, my scan was a couple of months after my radiotherapy finished, i had op, radio, scan, started tamoxifen just before radiotherapy started and still on them for at least another 18/12, hope this makes sense

Are you talking about bone density scan? As if you are on letrozole you should have had this at the start of treatment, as letrozole can thin the bones, so the will check your bones at the start to see if you need treatment for this as well!

Like Debs1962,I had a bone density early on in my treatment, October 15, I've since had another one and am now taking Andronic acid,as well a a pill for calcium and vitamin D.

I'd ask the question ?
