Update: Seen my oncology Doctor this... - My Breast Cancer ...
Update
You sound as though you had a good result with not having to go back for a year. Excellent news. As everybody is different and their bodies respond in different ways to treatment, everybodys recovery time and scar fading will vary. I had surgery last Jan. My scars have recently started to 'flatten out', but there is still some lumpy tissue in areas. My chest is tight because of how they had to stretch the muscle. I think that is a sensation I will have to learn to live with. But the big bonus is.... I am alive. That is what I focus on. All the best with the rest of yiur recovery π
You were just before me then I had mine April still a little tender under arm area where lympnodes were removed, that's where all the bulkiness is apart from that I'm doing ok I'm glad your doing well as you said to me I wish you all the best and no more lifes little dramas xx
Thanks Jenny. It will settle in time. I did get the odd shooting pains around the left armpit as I had all lymoh nodes removed too. That has settled. I am back on the first of next month for a CT scan and Brain scan. Then back to the onconlogist on the 5th Dec. Oh the joys πTake care. Lainey π
Jenny it takes time and you have good news to focus on now. See a physiotherapist if it's tight and continue with your post surgery stretching exercises both will help. I am exercising normally but adapting some movements so they are more gentle on the stretch, keep going as it does get better. X
Thank you yes keep up with the exercise is what he said don't get me wrong I can do loads of stuff now but every now and then a little reminder pops up and you think ok is that supposed to be happening six months on and still tender the fog brain and now blurred vision it will all get sorted one day at a time xxxx how are you any set backs or have you finished
I'm doing ok thanks, energy levels returning and I've been back at work full time since August. The wound is tight as is under my arm but I'm loving the gym and zumba, I think it'staking longer because of the debridement surgery I had in July and the wound only closed 2 weeks ago.
I have an oophorectomy in 2 weeks time, one more thing over and done with then. Reconstruction planned for the Spring, probably May realistically so going to get myself as fit as I can beforehand!
Hair is growing back very slowly and crazy curly! However I am glad to have hair at all and very glad to be alive!.πππππ
Take care x
Great news Jenny. No more visits for a year! Maybe time is what it takes. It's a huge area of trauma to heal properly. Your surgeon would be the one to answer those queries though. Maybe even a visit to the GP?
