Improvements

Hi ,I had lung cancer 2015 which was treated surgery and chemo but it still spread to my brain in 2017 as a small tumour ,which was blasted with one high dose of stereotactic radiotherapy in May2017 ,3months later I developed a left lower leg weakness ,thought to be caused by oedema and scar tissue I seem to have been on dexamethasone for ever .

Now there are improvements as the oedema has reduced and the dexamethasone now only a tiny dose gradually coming off it in the next two weeks hooray .I am getting little bits of feeling returning to my left lower leg .In all honesty I never thought this would improve and now I am feeling much more hopeful for my future after having some very despondent days .I just wanted to share my story ,lately I have been walking with just a stick and I have cautiously recommenced swimming something I never thought I could do again .For the moment I am in a lovely place it may not last ,but I am enjoying it whilst it is here ,so don't give up out there if life is challenging as things may improve .Diane

Great news on the improvements Diane. Really pleased for you and long will it continue. You'd would want to give the Dex the heave ho in any case even though they helped.

So glad you will be getting off them.
