The Pill back to back.

I saw a gynaecologist last week who looked into my scans and said that my gynae is perfectly normal; I do have a tilted womb but he said 15% of people do. Hes decided that the pill is probably my best option to try and he thinks it could be really effective for me. I should be starting it within the next 2-5 days. He wants me to take it so I only end up with 3 periods each year, so would I just take it for 3 months, have a break, take it for 3 months, have a break etc??

Hi, sorry I should have stated.. its the combined pill Im being put on. The gynaecologist reccomended I do it so I onl get 3 periods a year but didnt explain exactly how to take it. I have a GP appointment tomorrow so Ill mention it then, but I feel like the GP will think that its a bad idea doing that. I want to at least try it and if I find its more painful or whatever having that many a year Ill do it so I get more than 3 because you have quite a lot of control over your period on the pill, from what Ive heard? xx

Ive read that with the combined pill you can only take three packs back to back and it can make your period extremely painful so I just wondered if anybody had done it. Ill obviously talk to my doctor about my options tomorrow but the gynaecologist did reccomend only having three periods a year.
