Copper IUD pain

I had the copper IUD fitted about 3 weeks ago. I am still experiencing pain in my lower abdomen, is this normal or should I get that checked out?

Do get it checked out, but it's fairly common, Laci Green talked about this on her twitter (twitter.com/gogreen18) if you search her timeline. For some people that never goes away, in which case it's probably not the best option for them
