Implant removal

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me their experiences of having their implant removed? I'm getting mine removed soon as I literally bleed everyday because of it. Would be nice to know how long healing takes and the pain etc.

There's no pain as they will numb your arm to take it out. It might just feel a little tender if it bruises.

Heal time varies but no more than a few days as it is only a small incision they make to remove it. They do advise to keep the bandage on for 24/48 hrs to help reduce bruising and the sticky stitches for a few days but I took mine off within a few hours as can't stand anything tight around my arms.

When I had it removed, I told the nurse I didn't like needles and often went dizzy when they were stuck in me. She was very good at distracting me, I didn't feel a thing and it certainly looked tidy when I took the bandage off (I was half expecting the insides of my arm to be falling out haha)

Hi there

The implant is removed with local anaesthetic, so any soreness will only last a couple of days, then you just have a bit of bruising where it was removed and a very small cut that usually heals within a week.

Best wishes

Katherine
