I've wrote before about getting the implant taken out, I'm now asking if anyone who had irregular periods on the implant if their periods went back to normal once it got taken out? Or what side effects you did or did not experience once it was removed?
Thanks X

Implants stop working once they are removed and the hormones do not remain in the woman’s body. Irregular periods are very common whilst the implant is in place, (from not having any to constant spotting), but after removal fertility is quick to return. Implant use does not affect a woman’s ability to become pregnant, although fertility decreases with a woman’s age. One major study found that women who have had their implants removed can become pregnant as quickly as women who have stopped using non-hormonal methods. Irregular periods happen for many reasons, this link might be useful to have a quick read of: see this link nhs.uk/Conditions/Periods-i...
I had the implant in and had constant light and then heavy bleeding for the first four months. I then went on the mini pill for 3 months whilst the implant was in to try stop the bleeding but no joy. instead I turned into a psychopathic lunatic.. you couldn't have met a crazier girl than me in those 3 months! eventually I just stopped the pill and had the implant removed (which took an hour and a half itself!) and vowed never to go back. I had no side effect from coming off them, just 2 small scars from insertion/removal. I've had regular periods (although still heavy due to uterine abnormality) ever since coming off all hormone based contraception
