Hi, I missed my 19th pill of my last pack of Microgynon 30 on Monday 24th August (the third from the end). I last had unprotected sex 2 days previous to this, Saturday 22nd. I normally take it at 6pm but had chronic toothache from a wisdom tooth and had just left the dentists, so was very distracted and forgot. I remembered and took it as soon as I woke up the next day at 8am, 14 hours after I should have taken it. I continued as normal and finished the pack as the nhs website advises. I didn't realise until the Saturday (29th) that I should have run on to another pack according to the leaflet, so am on my 7 day break. However, I got my period or "withdrawal bleed" on Sunday night (30th), I'm still on it and it seems pretty normal and a normal amount of blood. Should I be worried about pregnancy?

Missed pill confusions
I was on this pill and I missed it God knows how many times and never fell pregnant while on that pill. It takes a while for it to completely get out of your system although if your worried do a test to put your mind at rest
I agree with Kitty, it might be an idea to take a test if it puts your mind at ease? x
Hi there
As long as you took both pills on the Tuesday then you will be fine as this is the advice. If you have missed one pill, anywhere in the pack you should take the last pill you missed now even if it means taking two pills in one day. Then continue taking the rest of the pack as usual and take your 7-day break as normal. As a withdrawal bleed isn’t a ‘true’ period, merely a bleed due to a dip in hormones you should take a pregnancy test on the 12th Sept as this will be 3 weeks since the unprotected sex to be sure.
I hope this helps
Best wishes
Katherine
