I had to stop taking the pill that I was on (Microgynon 30) because it was mucking up my diabetes. I hadn't stopped bleeding the entire

time I was on it, and now that I've stopped, I am assuming I've got my period bleed again? I only took the tablet for 16 days! Is there any way to stop the bleedjng? Or does anyone know how long it will last?

Hi Emily,

I've responded to your other question too, but with regards to the bleeding - I know that it's really frustrating and bloody inconvenient, but unfortunately it can be a normal side-effect just while your body gets used to the pill and settles down. Health professionals normally say to give any method at least 3 months otherwise you might end up getting these early use side effects every time you swap, but have a chat with your GP or contraceptive nurse.
