hi all, I'm roughly 5 weeks pregnant although I'm getting in abortion next week, is it still safe to have sex?

Hi Jayne,

It is safe to have sex before you have an abortion, although while you wouldn't be at risk of pregnancy you are still at risk of STIs. After an abortion, it's best to avoid having sex for 2 weeks due to risk of infection. Fertility returns almost immediately after an abortion, so if you want to avoid pregnancy you should start using contraception straight away.
