Has my medical abortion failed?

So I didn’t get a scan due to covid , but i had taken 3 pregnancies tests so I knew that I was pregnant, anyways I was estimated to be 5 weeks. So BPAS had sent the abortion pills through the post, on Saturday at 3.15pm I took the first Pill, than on Sunday at 11pm I had inserted the 4 tablets, but I didn’t get any bleeding, and only slight cramping, than 3 hours later I inserted the last 2 tablets, I did get bleeding this time, but it wasn’t a lot, hardly anything tbh, I am bleeding a little now and again but it’s very very light and nothing like a period, it’s now Wednesday and i think My abortion hasn’t worked, has anything experienced this before?

Sorry for the long paragraph,

Contact your GP and ask their advice, no one on here can tell you if your abortion has worked or not.

Looking at the advice from BPASs they provide the following info. It sounds like you need to contact them and talk through what your next steps are.

I will contact BPAS if I experience any of the following signs that my treatment has not worked:

I had no or minimal bleeding after using misoprostol

I had less than 4 days of bleeding

By the end of week 1, I still ‘feel’ pregnant or have symptoms of pregnancy such as sore breasts, sickness, tummy growing, etc.

3 weeks after treatment, I performed the BPAS urine pregnancy test (using the first urine passed when I woke) and the test was positive, invalid, or I was not sure of the result

My next period has not come by 4 weeks after treatment (even if the pregnancy test was negative).

Yes this happens to a lot just look on netmums tons of people on there. Me being one. I kept the baby and she is OK. There is a 1% of abnormalities.

Thank you for replying and not judging& personally do you think theirs a chance that it hasn’t worked& I’m scared that if I do continue with the pregnancy than their might be birth defects& I would not be able to live with the guilt of that& I’m not mentally ready to have another child 😔 I’m allergic to most contraception& i do try and be careful but sometimes its impossible 😔 It’s like I’m in a catch 22 situation 😭

Did you get a scan done. I know now about 30 people this has happened to via netmums.

What made you feel it hasn't worked?

If it is still continuing there is a risk of abnormalities. But this is 1% lower than the average risk in a normal pregnancy. I've done extensive research into this and consulted many doctors.

All those babies on netmums did come out OK. The ones that didn't it was detected on the ultrasound.

I think mainly because It wasn’t painful, I didn’t bleed a lot and I got told that your meant to have cramps etc but i didn’t have anything& no i didn’t get a scan done as the clinic in my area is closed so the closest one to me was further away, and it crazy to think it’s happened to a lot of people and that I’ve not known it to happen. I think I’m going to have to re test in 2/3 weeks and if it still positive than I will have to travel to the clinic for a scan and thank you, means a lot

How do you know I didn’t use contraception 😂Why can’t I ask this question 😂😂 if you don’t like what I ask, then please kindly **** off 🙂 and just to let you know, I’m allergic to most contraception! Including condoms! And it’s my body 🙂😋 thank you Goodbye 👋

It is a reasonable question to ask here. What is she meant to do not question her situation. If you have nothing constructive to say then just don't comment its simple.

Why don't you keep your nose out

I don't need to keep my nose out, I am here to offer my input. Its not your post so you don't really have a say. Just go about your day and stop causing trouble on the Internet.

You literally commented on my post 😂 Now your telling people to keep her nose out of things..... Clearly lockdown has got to you 😂

The British Pregnancy Advice is the UK's leading abortion care service so it's probably the best place for her question.

Glad you received it 🤪 cool you reported it, like that will effect my life in any way 😂 Don’t expect me to be rude when your reply was really unnecessary. I’ve got a child and I only use that sort of language to people like you 🙂 Have a lovely day hun 😅 clearly you ain’t got one 😂

in reply toSienna199

I don't think for one minute it will affect your life. No doubt you will still be the same vile benefit scrounging breeder that you always have been, the kind who flush away life down the toilet when it suits you. I will have a lovely day thank you, one spent working for a living and not expecting everyone else to keep me.

Judgemental much? You've leapt to a lot of conclusions there! You started by just incorrectly saying that she shouldn't be posting about abortion on an abortion support page, then you've leapt to that she's a vile benefit scrounger with no regard for life. If someone is having /had an abortion they're probably going through a lot more than what you just read about on a post on here. They need support and kindness not vicious words.

Thank you! I’m mentally not prepared for another child and allergic to contraception, I’ve got a baby and I’m not prepared to have another one when I’m self employed and currently on maternity from my workplace x

Literally not a benefit scrounge you idiot 😂😂 I have a job 🥰 and yeah so what if i did, I was not ready for another child& that’s my choice and no one else’s, and I am self employed and currently on MAT leave so thank you so much for your lovely reply 🤣 I worked since the age of 16& love it how you call me a benefit scrounged, mate that probably is you 😂 Why don’t you go do one ☝️

Love it how your name is hidden 😂😂 mate your just a Internet troll, probably with no life, no man 😅 sort yourself out and go to the doctors 🤪🤪

Wow. How incredibly shallow and rude.

This comment was totally uncalled for. No matter your opinion on abortion , the decision isn’t yours . It’s not your body not your choice. If you can’t give any advice or even keep your opinion civil them don’t give it.
