About six week ago I ate some beetroot which what I think caused a flare up of IBS (never diagnosed) . I started to get diarrhea and cramping. After 2 weeks I went to the pharmacy and took buscopan and one tablet of imodium. This helped solidify the BM. But a day or two afterwards on going to the toilet I think I felt a rip/tear once the BM was firmer and since then I have had blood nearly every time I go ( which is usually once a day - still loose bit not diarreah). I had a closer look today and and a thin line of blood runs down the length of the stool (like if you take a pen and draw a line down the side) and on the toilet paper but not in the bowl (I've had instances of bright red in the bowl in the past but never for weeks).
I've read that it could be an anal fissure but I've had no pain, even at the time of the feeling of a tear/ rip. Abdominal pain is still there but it comes and goes. Buscopan helps.
I've had bleeding before due to heammorids I think but they have never been on going (once or twice during a BM).
I had a colonoscopy and bowel emptying study Nov 2022 and they were clear ( at that time there was alot of abdominal pain). Had internal haemmoroids removed in 2021 because the haemmoroids were causing me pain.
I've lost weight, but have intentionally trying to do so because I had put on more than 5 kg. I've also started to take probiotics and that has helped with bloating as my stomach is the flatest it has been in years. I feel that the probiotics are helping me lose weight easier and I am eating less anyway because of the pain.
I'm due to do my FIT test tomorrow morning to drop off at my GP.
Question is can cancer develop in two years after a clear colonoscopy/sigmoidoscope and can fissures cause no pain at all? I am going through the menopause too so not sure if this is aggravating anything.
