I was diagnosed with IBS about 35 years ago. I started a low carb and keto way of eating 7 years ago and it's all settled down.
However, the past six months I've had abdominal pain and bloating, worsening throughout the day. By the evening I look six months pregnant! The main area of pain is on my right side, and across to the left of the abdomen a bit, just under the rib cage. Some pain under my bellybutton and across on that level to the right. Pain continues deep down into the bottom right of my bowel. Feels better after a bowel movement and they've increased to 4 or 5 a day. No blood seen. I have a numb area to the right of the bellybutton after surgery nearby nine years ago cut nerves. I'm wondering if it's hiding more pain.
My GP referred me for an ultrasound on my abdomen and all was normal. But this wouldn't have examined the bowel I think. I'm returning to the GP next week but I wondered if what I'm experiencing sounds like bowel disease or not.
