I had a bowel resection in 2017,Due to diverticulitis and a ruptured bowel causing an abscess, An iliostomy for three months After resection and then A successful reversal and bowel rejoined minus part of My sigmoid. My problem is that ever since this I have had low sodium in my blood tests. The last time I had a Blood test two weeks ago following a urinary tract infecrion My sodium was very low. I have had another blood test And awaiting the results. Has anyone else had this problem of low sodium after bowel resection. I know it happens if you have a permanent bag but I don’t, my GP doesn’t seem to know what’s going on, I’m going back to my surgeon but I don’t know whether I’m technically his problem any more.Has this happened to anyone else that’s had a bowel resection . ?
