Hi, I had a capsule endoscopy on the 19th of December and with new year and Christmas I expected a wait for the results to come back. I rang my consultant's secretary to find out what was happening. She stated that the consultant would write to me about the results in March!
A bit about me. I have had IBS symptoms for over 16 years. I've had various previous tests in the past come back normal. I had my gallbladder out in June 2021 and since then my symptoms have worse. I have had elevated calprotectin levels with urgent bowel movements, Abdominal cramps, urgent and explosive diarohhea, joint pain and severe fatigue. I was referred to Gastroenterology, but whilst waiting for an appointment my symptoms got worse, so I ended up in hospital and ct scan showed active chronic inflammation which looked similar to Crohn's. I was lucky I managed to get an appointment. The consultant ordered a colonoscopy and a capsule endoscopy. The colonoscopy was clear and biopsies came back normal.
I thought the capsule endoscopy would be my last chance to get some proper answers. I'm not too sure why I have to wait until Match to find out what the results of the Endoscopy showed. Is it likely that the results were normal? I might just give the secretary another ring as I'm confused about it.
Thank you for reading.
