High calprotectin

hi everyone, I’m going for a colonoscopy/endoscopy next week and I’m feeling really worried for the procedure and results. I’ve had coeliac disease for 10 years, but recently have been experiencing a lot of acid reflux and mucus in my stool.

My calprotectin was 295, which I understand is quite high. Can anyone provide some reassurance or advice for possible outcomes ? I’m hoping that it’s h-pylori or a reaction from eating gluten (I’d accidentally eaten some a week before I had the stool test.

Many thanks

I understand your worry about the procedure - I was the same! But it is really nothing to worry about, I felt a little pushing but no pain. In my mind the laxative before the colonoscopy was way worse! I ended up having 2 colonoscopy's but before the second I read up on the laxative and how to make it easier to go down. Using cold water from the fridge when you make it helps, adding a little juice to it I didn't find useful. But sucking ice cubes between mouthfuls did help a lot. Wishing you the best x
