Hi 😀

I got diagnosed in June with this, I had quite a bad flare up.

Ive been told the best way to prevent further flare ups is to keep a high fibre diet.

When I first changed my diet by adding more fibre it was uncomfortable going to the toilet aswell this is normal your body is getting used to the changes in your diet.

However if this keeps on for a few weeks see your gp to be sure.

Try and stay away from spicy food, stodgy junk food or anything that 'doesn't agree with you'

Hope this helps

Hi Kazz Im 59 but had same diagnosis 4 years ago. Its shocking that we have both been given little advice other than to work our diet out for ourselves! I asked my GP if i could talk to a dietician after my colonoscopy but was told they dont deal with it! Anyway I just wanted to say I am a lot better now and can eat spicy food sometimes and I believe its because I am taking a top quality probiotic tablet daily before my evening meal. (I tried cheaper makes but they didnt work). Take heart that things can get better but expect it to take a little time - I just wished I had discovered these sooner. Also agree that you should have fibre in your diet too. Good luck and hope youre feeling better soon!
