Teriparatide and low monocytes

I stopped Teriparatide on 11th April because of side effects. 4 days later I got a particularly bad cold that lasted a long time. On 2nd May I had a routine blood test, and it shows my monocytes are out of range 3.2 mole/L) - low. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Hi! I was on Terraparatide for two years with no problems. I do however and always have felt the cold.

Hi Mavary. you felt the cold even from before you were on Teriparatide? So it’s nothing to do with this drug?

Not for me. I’ve always been a very cold person.

one of the listed ill effects from teriparatide is respiratory problems, but i don't know much more about it.

did you have a flu or covid injection around the same time?

take care

No flu or Covid injections. Just the Terrapat tide that clearly set off a chain reaction of side effects……

hmm yes, my Mum had a bit of respiratory issue, but it was months later, (no flu or covid injections), not sure if linked. i wonder if she should have been guided to taper off the tptd;

there was no expertise around it at all.

Mum also had a tumour detected,

but on a vertebrae, not inside,

it's shrinking now, thankfully,

i think it's related,

geriatrician says it's not.

(it is in the past; but the decline remains, so, as a natural response i question everything drs say, and haven't got confidence they know the drugs or treatments)
