I have just been for my blood test prior to my second infusion, after my first one I ended up in a/e at 4am in the morning peeing blood I am dreading it,oncologist said uti infection won't have been the infusion what a load of rubbish never had a uti before in my life, 8hrs in a/e then they put me on a drip, and then sent me home later that day with antibiotics. I have this infusion on the 25th, I nearly canceled it.

I was told to drink plenty of fluids before, during and after infusion. Aim for 2 litres of water or more over the course of the day.

May I ask, as you mention an oncologist, do you have cancer as well as osteoporosis? And when you say infusion, are you referring to Zoledonic Acid?

yeah,I have locally advanced prostate cancer, finished treatment 2016 rt/ht under control at the moment psa 0.04 checkup every 6 months, the reason I asked to see oncologist because my testosterone has not recovered that's why I have severe osteoporosis, I asked him if I could have trt but he said no because I am high risk, I also told him I was peeing blood after zoledronic acid infusion, and he said it wouldn't be that and I didn't agree with him. can't win.

I’ve been in that position recently, where doctor said the cause of my problem was an antibiotic. I believed it to be one solid month of 4 g of paracetamol daily. After a week in hospital still not well, so I stopped the paracetamol.(painkiller for severe arm surgery.). within 12 hours of stopping paracetamol I was better. I think we know our own bodies.

Do you think it was the zoledronic acid on top of the other problem that you have, which may have created the blood in the urine?

no because the oncologist said that I do not have prostate cancer, that is because my psa is undetectable, I said if I haven't got p,/c why won't you give me trt he said because I am high risk.
