Have been taking this drug for 4 months and side effects are very bad - aching bones, muscle pain, sleepless nights. Dr said that if i stop taking drug it will reverse any good effects and may get worse. I cannot seem to find out if this is true. Does anyone know??

As I understand it any good effects will eventually wear off, especially as you have also been taking Prolia.

It would be worth contacting one of the ROS advisors - there is a link on the right hand side of this page and speaking to someone with more knowledge.

Remember HU is going down for servicing at 10.00 this morning

What are your tscores for a start? One lot of prolia isn’t going to be an issue for you to just stop. My sister took it once too and couldn’t wait for the six months to be up as she felt so awful.

You need to know your tscores to make a decision.

Have you been doing all the natural things to help? Vitamin K2 puts the calcium into the bones. Check your vitamin D and magnesium? Have lots of fruit and vegetables and things like yoghurt, bony broth, salmon, avocados, leafy greens, etc.

Walk if you can.

If you’re borderline it seems easier to fix than if you’re something like -4 or -5. Another thing you can’t have is a huge difference in tscores because they’re all your bones wherever they are.

Hi, if you stop taking it any benefit you have gained WILL reverse. Thereafter your bone density will continue to decline without taking preventive measures.

Unfortunately it is a natural consequence that bone density declines once you reach a certain age.

For some of us it is more rapid than others.
