I recently replied in a thread regarding calcium supplements and I said that I'd gone for repeat vitamin D blood test but they'd decided to do a full blood count which showed I had low protein levels in my kidneys. I've been back this week for a repeat test after not taking my calcium supplements for a week, test was done Monday morning, we're now Friday morning and GP hadn't rung with results which makes me think I was right and it was the calcium causing the problem, I've been taking Calceos, any suggestions about what I do now will be gratefully received

Jennymary, why not try and get as much calcium as you can naturally with food. There was an item on the radio last week regarding osteoporosis. The doctor said that getting calcium naturally was better than supplements. The consultant I seen said much the same in the letter he sent to my GP, although the Gp still prescribed them. I didn’t take them as the dose was very high. I bought calcium citrate, but I only take one if there’s a day when I think I haven’t had enough in my meals.
Have a look at the Facebook group “ Vitamin D and cofactors UK” . There’s lots of useful info on Vitamin d supplementation together with cofactors, magnesium, boron and vitamin k2 - mk7. Good luck.
