After being diagnosed with OP 10 months ago at T-3 in my spine and hips I have spent a lot of time researching what I should be doing in terms of exercising. Often coming up against a brick wall I came across the Melioguide website run by a Canadian physiotherapist and I highly recommend it!
It gives 3 day or 6 day exercise plans for all different levels and each type of exercise within the plans has an instructional video to guide you. There is also an exercise video to purchase but it is not in the right format for the UK so I emailed them and they said that they were looking into streaming online soon.
I hope this helps anyone looking for advise.
Also there's an interesting link below from the website about prunes!
I just started the programme at the weekend, using the 6 day plan, and finding it very user friendly and comprehensive. Prior to this I’d brought information on suitable exercises to a personal trainer and he planned a programme. Unfortunately I often felt I was pushed too hard, did exercises I felt uncomfortable with which caused injuries and did exercises I later found were contradicted. I also resented the time it took going to the gym 2-3 times weekly. The otherwise kind gentleman changed jobs so I decided to go it alone. I think I will find it a lot easier to do the exercises in shorter bursts plus will still do the odd gym session as different challenges stimulate bone building. Already I’m finding the flexibility/stretching exercises useful as they are highlighting areas I really need to work on. Having all this information in one place is very useful and it can fit around the other exercises I already do, namely Pilates, dancing and walking. I appreciate the clearly detailed instructions and the wide scope of the safe exercises. Just be aware that it takes weeks for the book to arrive in the UK!
