anything to help with night sweats?

hey guys. just signed up to this form so i don't really know anything. don't even know where i'm writing to or if i'm making a new post, but that's ok for now. i'll probably get there:)

apparently decided to have stage 4 liver cancer about 5-6 months ago. seems like a pretty good hospital, pretty good doctors... all that was fine. was told about a 2-round, 3 sessions each immuno/chemo therapy plan. did one but did not find that enjoyable and said i would skip the 2nd round. in hospice now and not expecting a lot of time left. and i'm ok with all of that. just have a couple of "discomfort" issues that i'm poking around to see if anyone has had any luck getting rid of.

my pain level's generally pretty low right now, so one of my biggest annoyances is these night sweats. haven't really seen anything concrete about this. several places have said it can be due to liver cancer. anyway it probably doesn't even seem very terrible, but it's really pretty annoying to be woken up at night because you're cold and wet and have to get up an mop off and change clothes all the time. sometimes a couple times a night. gets very old an uncomfortable. i'm getting hints that taking a naproxen sodium at night seems to help a little, but more research is required :)

anyway, i'll just stick with that one question and see how this goes. i don't really have a lot of questions. willing to help people with issues but i am really a newbie so i don't have a ton of experience at all this stuff. just a round of hospital treatments and now hospice.

thanks in advance to anyone who wants to maybe chat some about stuff. and junk :)

Welcome & sorry for the short response (I'll do more later), but wanted to comment on night sweats. Several years ago this was a more severe problem for me & magnesium at bedtime made a big difference! The full sweats are uncommon now.

Hi. Welcome to the group. I'm glad that you found us . I'm sorry that I didn't respond to your post sooner. I'm Sharon and I'm a moderator for the group. Apparently what both my doctor and myself thought was my just my sinuses decided to turn into pneumonia. So I've been under the weather this past week. I was my late husband Jimmy's caregiver during his battle with liver disease and HCC. He tried the treatments for a year and then decided to get on Hospice so he'd feel like living the time he had left. I don't remember him having night sweats so I can't offer you any ideas on that except to ask your Hospice Nurse. We were Blessed with great ones and they were both happy to help us solve any issues we had. If they didn't know the answer, they would try to find it. Hopefully some of our other members has some advice on the night sweats. Sharon ❤️

thanks, sharon. yah, that's all i was kind looking for up here. you know, maybe some people with the same goofy issues i come up with once in a while:) yes, our hospice people seem pretty great, too. i was only diagnosed with this around 6 months ago, so kind of new to the whole strange experience. a little twilight zoney:) buut, at least i don't expect it to last too long. and always good to have more people to pester with questions:) thanks, greg

Hello! Have you asked your doctors about any medications you're taking that may have night sweats as a side effect? Otherwise, I'm not sure. It's not a typical symptom of liver cancer. However, as a post-menopausal woman, I'm familiar with night sweats! 😀
