I was commenting back and forth on a Facebook Liver Cancer support group with a wife/caregiver who had questions about her fact that her husband's liver ( and his health in general) was getting worse during his current treatment. I shared what happened to Jimmy and told her to be sure to keep questioning the oncologist about it or even reach out to one of his other doctors to ask them. Another wife/caregiver asked why didn't she ( and why hadn't we) simply reached out to the Tumor Board. LoL. I told her that sadly that was not even in the realm of possibility here we lived and the first lady is in another state but rural area also. So we explained that ven seeing a liver doctor or an oncologist meant a long drive, having any procedures or tests meant a long drive. So much of the country doesn't have any idea that often it's just not possible to run to the large cancer center because there isn't one. 💔
