My husband has just had his second infusion of Atezolizumab/Bevacizumab, and is feeling awful. The initial infusion caused fatigue and some sickness but he is now experiencing chills, a bad cough, sickness, lack of appetite. He feels if this reaction is repeated in future infusions he will stop. Is there anyone there who has also had the infusions and can they let us know their experience of this treatment.

outcome
Have been taking both drugs interveinously every 3 weeks since 4/2021 after Y90 procedure in 3/2021 . Some fatigue a day or two after but no other side effects of any consequence. My condition is stable disease with no evidence of reoccurance or new cancer. Will continue immunotheraphy at least until 2023. Followup every three months at Mayo Clinic.
Thanks for that - good to know. We've both discovered we've got covid too, which might explain why my husband, in particular, has felt so crook - that rather than the infusion. I think he'll therefore have the third infusion and get feed back from his oncologist. He had the TACE procedure and then surgery. The Y90 procedure is not on offer to us in France, and/or England I don't think. Once again do appreciate your response.
Oh gosh, so sorry to hear about the covid! Based on that, I'd say his symptoms are probably due to covid and not the infusion so much. I think his plan to get the third infusion after all, and get feedback from his oncologist, is a really good one.
Sure hope you both feel better soon!
Wendy
We do appreciate your kindness and at the moment I am in worse state than him! However, he does have a serious underlying condition whereas I am pretty healthy. So will take it easy for the next few days.
Hi there. I had my second immunotherapy infusion yesterday. It went well. Today I am fatigued and have some stomach issues. I have been experiencing sore gums that are really slow to heal.
I had traditional liver surgery last month to confirm I have HCC . It is very aggressive. I hope and pray this will help me. Other options are off the table at this point.
I hope and pray that it helps.
I agree about the Covid effecting your husband badly. I think another try at Immunotherapy could help.
Wishing you all well!
Hi IggyMy husband and I would like to thank you for responding to our query, considering that you are in a similar situation to us. I do wish you all the best with the treatment and can only say that we were given a prognosis of 6 months or thereabouts 2 1/2 years ago. 2 1/2 years earlier he had had TACE and surgery. This immunotherapy infusion seems to be the way to go so we hope all will go well with your course of treatment.
Hi. I haven't been online much lately so just seeing your post. Hopefully y'all are both feeling better now. My husband and I have been lucky because neither of us has gotten COVID even though we've been exposed and family members/close friends have had it. I'm afraid I'm no help with this particular immunotherapy infusion. His oncologist wanted to do it but insurance wouldn't approve and he had to take Opdivo instead. I'm glad that he's going to give the third infusion a try before he makes decision. Hopefully it was the COVID causing him to feel so bad. Y'all are in my prayers. Wishing y'all a great weekend.Sharon Dixon 💗
