Hello I am Bill. 71 years old. Maried three times. One divorce after 18 years, one passed away after 30 years and my present wife of three years! She just went through three years of fighting for her life with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the right mandable. She is cancer free now. No Cemo and no radiation was ever done.

I served 20 Years US Army. Have a Fatty liver that was diagnosed August 27, 2014 during my Gastris RNY Surgery. Was hoped to turn the Fatty Liver around, it did not. Had low platelet count consistantly since 2014. May 2021 the platelets started to drop. Sent to a Hemotologist/Oncologist July 26, 2021. Sent for a Ultra scan it showed "Leisons" . Sent for MRI, Bone Scan, and CT of lungs.

MRI shows 3 Tumors.

#1 Junction of segments 4 and 5 near gallbladder fossa - 3.2cm x 2.4cm minimaly T2.

#2 At the Liver Dome - 2.7 x 2.2cm T2

#3 Right posterior of the Liver a 2.4 x 1.6cm

#4 is a hyperintense lesion without definate T2 or diffusion signal it is 1.7 cm.

Blood tests show normal liver function.

Never had Hepatitus of any kind. Hep blood test concurs.

My first Appointment with the Doctors to discuss the game plan at UF Health in Jacksonville Florida is September 7, 2021, four days before my 72nd Birthday!

I am so fortunate the Veteran's Administration under the Community care program is totaly paying for this. Thank you VA!

No evidence this Cancer Monster is anywhere else in my body and I have zero symptoms at this point, thank God

Welcome, Bill! I'm Wendy and my husband Dave is also here on the forum - he was diagnosed in March of 2018 with HCC. His cancer was found through a routine blood test when they saw elevated AFP, and like you, he had no symptoms. He is also with the VA, but back then community care was not really up and running so we traveled a couple of hours to Ann Arbor for his treatment. (We are in far southwest Michigan, close to South Bend, Indiana.) After his cancer spread to his lungs in 2019, we were referred to community care in South Bend for his oncology treatment. You're right, it is a wonderful thing!

Sending many good thoughts and prayers to you for your visit next week. Dave has had Y90 radiation twice, and has been on two different oral chemo pills - Nexavar and Stivarga - so he can answer questions on those if they are part of your treatment. I'm so glad you are feeling well - that is really a blessing!

Thank you. As you know at this point I am just the unknowns are really scary. In combat at least we can eliminate the threat quickly and just like this monster more attack. All we can do is keep returning fire and hope we get em all. I will follow Dave and will make contact. Facebook: Bill Butler Palm Coast Florida. God Bless!

Welcome to the group! My name is Sharon. My husband Jimmy has liver cancer as well as cirrhosis and other health issues caused by Hep C. They found the first lesion in end of December 2020 and he's had a Deb-Tace procedure and tried Lenvima. Deb-Tace shrank first tumor but 4 to 5 more have popped up. Had to stop Lenvima due to horrible side effects. He has since decided to discontinue treatment because side effects were robbing us if the very short time he has left. His end stage liver disease limited his choices and we've decided to treat symptoms and keep comfortable and leave it in God's hands. So glad you don't have the liver damage. It really does give you such a better chance at fighting this monster. Hopefully they can get you started on a treatment that will help. Please tell you wife there's several of us here that are glad to listen or help any way we can. Wendy is awesome for one. God Bless you both.

Thinking of you today, Bill! 🙂

Thank you!

Ok so I have had my first Cancer appointment. Good news, sorta! Seems I am too well for a Trasnsplant. Many before me in much worse situations. I get it, I can wait. But I will be placed on the list. The Tumor board has not met yet so in about three weeks I will know what their game plan will be. Y90 to keep the tumors at bay. And maybe just maybe it will be possible to remove part of the liver. I have the Fatty Cirrosis Liver but they said that because I had lost a lot of weight due to me having Gastric Bypass RNY surgery Aug/2014 it has started to reverse. When I know I will let Y'all know. I plan on recording here each and every step taken in this quest to live. I hope something that is done for me will help someone else. But I suspect most of Y'all have been down this trail already. It is from you I will learn. God bless all of you, Patients and families, Amen

You're right, this is good news! At this point, the hardest part is just waiting - for appointments, for results, for procedures. We are here with you every step of the way. Sending prayers and positive energy!

UPDATE for Treatment plans at At UF Health Jacksonville, Florida. Know so much more than when I first posted. These things really grow slow. I told the doctor it is like in combat. You creep up on the enemy and get close then spring on em! It has been mentioned some Doctors describe this Cancer: "like a flower garden. You weed and weed and turn around and the weeds just pop up again." Cannot resection, tumors in two different sections. Cannot do heat/cold ablation - too close to the Hepatic Vein. It is in the liver and has not gone anywhere else, at least that is what all the tests say. Dec 17, 2021 sechduled for Tumor Mapping for the Therasphere implantations. Jan 4, 2022 the first actual implantation for the right side. Then Feb 3, 2022 for the left side. Meanwhile I do have some pain now on my right side. We are staying close to home and trying not to interact with a lot of people. I saw you yesterday at Bennie's and wanted to come out and say hello. This will be somewhat of a unpleasent experience for me but a walk in the park for Jesus, Amen?

Good morning Bill.Well great news that it hasn't spread. I know that is one of my biggest worries. Jimmy has his 3 month MRI scheduled for next Tuesday. I hope the procedures are successful for you. Jimmy hasn't had one of those. He's only had the DEB-TACE where it's chemo in the spheres instead of radiation. With his cirrhotic liver, I think they're afraid of radiation. I'm sorry that you're starting to experience pain. Hopefully the procedure will help alleviate that some. I hope y'all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. God Bless!

I do have the Fatty Liver Cirrosis. It was found in Aug of 2014. I had Gastric Bypass surgery and lost a lot of weight. The cirrosis seems to have not gotten worse so that is a good thing. This Thereasphere Y-90 is having a lot of success. My Surgeon is Doctor Sirgusa at the University of Florida in Jacksonville. He is the head of the department. ufhealthjax.org/doctors/126...

Well after COVID stopped my second treatment Feb 3, 2022 On March 1, 2022 I have had my second Y-90 Therasphere Micro Glass Ball insertion in the right side. Done for now then until all calms down and they do the MRI/CT. Maybe ok, maybe not ok, it is crap shoot! Buy We can have a second round, but that's it. This is in the Hands of Jesus. Amen

More nausea but not really bad. I have not lost my Appetit. Eating Boarshead meat thin slices, mostly the turkey and beef. Little Cinnamon applesauce, Some boost and ensure shakes. Cooked pork chops last night for us and ate about two ounces of that. I have not taken any pain meds yet. I really hate them. I have been shot and sprayed with shrapnel no I know pain and this ain't bad! LOL
