Scared and lost!

I have not been diagnosed with anything as of yet but my symptoms are quite scary. I've seen a hepatologist and gastroenterologist and nothing as of today. I am going for a 3rd opinion tomorrow about my liver! My current symptoms are: chronic fatigue, low iron, low bun/creatinine, cold flushing feeling in lower legs, dizziness, hot feeling upper body. Weight loss/ muscle wasting. Can anyone help me make sense of all of this?

Thank you for any help

Hi! I'm very sorry to hear you are going through this. I'm sure not knowing what is causing your symptoms is scary. I hope the doctors are able to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible. What types of scans / tests have they performed? My husband had primary liver cancer many years ago now but I don't recall him having these types of symptoms at all before he was diagnosed. His liver cancer presented with severe pain and a high AFP level in his blood. They did imaging right away and they could see the tumor(s) - both on ultrasound and CAT scan. I hope you get some answers soon!

Thank you so much for your response! I have had imaging, CTscan, ultrasound and mri and they see small lesions but dont believe them to be malignant. They refuse to do a liver biopsy until they see something. Im not sure where else to go from here. I feel like im going crazy most days. 😣

Well the fact that they don't think the lesions they see are malignant seems very encouraging! My sense is that they can tell a lot by how they look. My mother has a 'lesion' on her liver and they monitor it but it is unchanging and they call it a hemangioma - apparently they are quite common. Of course, it made us all nervous while we waited for repeat scans to see if it changed but it is stable so that is good! But you have these other symptoms so maybe push the doctors to keep looking. You are your own best advocate and i know that is exhausting and frustrating.

Exhausting and frustrating for sure! I had a mental breakdown yesterday and had to see a psychiatrist! This is all so much, as they feel like its all in my head. 😣

My friend please no stress. Stress is a trigger, just try and divert your thoughts, do some research, maybe diff. Dr's, for another look and opinion. Insist a simple pet scan. Easy peasy. My mom complained about pain under her rib for over a year, it would spasm. She ignored the signs, when diagnosed it was too late, stage 4, liver and bone cancer. She was a drinker for many yrs. Vodka, smoker too. She lived 6 months, no treatment. Peaceful 4 months, 2 highly medicated months, she lived it her way. 85 yrs. She was a trooper, Don't give up. Keep moving, stay positive. No Sugar, No Alcohol, No smoking, positive, winner attitude, get rest. Eat healthy . Peace
