Calcium channel blockers and Beta blockers

Does anybody take a calcium channel blocker and a Beta blocker to control your blood pressure ? Recently because of asthma I was weaned down off of metoprolol to diltiazem . But the diltiazem 180 was causing swollen ankles and triggers my gerd. So now the Dr. has lowered the diltiazem to 120 and for me to resume the metoprolol 25. The only reason I had a problem with the metoprolol triggering my asthma was when they raised the metoprolol to 50 mg. I am hoping that by lowering the diltiazem the side effects will get better. Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

I take Lercandipine 10mg and Beta blocker Nebivolol 1.25mg and haven’t had any asthma problems with this combination
