I am having problems with SVT after two different blood pressure medications- one diruetic and another calcium channel blocker. I think my BP is resistant to meds as hypertension caused by Hashimotos - low pulse rate etc but wonder if anyone else has experienced this and what answers may be!

I really think, rosyG, that this has to be seen by a health professional. Whatever anyone tells you here could be counterproductive as we don’t know any more about you (family history, height, weight, bp readings , lifestyle, past medical history other than what you’ve said
I am seeing a cardiologist and have asked to be referred back to the endocrinologist but other people’s experience is also valuable. I think that’s the function of health unlocked. What people tell me can be very useful and I won’t make decisions based on same
I’m so glad you’re saying this. Some people on this forum (not necessarily for blood pressure) are not too clued up: Clearly, you are! I’ve seen ginkgo biloba recommended as the cure-all for something where a medical intervention was clearly needed
I think this goes back to my previous posts about people on this forum being adults and using it as a platform to share personal experiences. Advising people to speak to a medical professional whenever anyone posts a question doesn’t feel very helpful because most people have already done this. It also closes down discussion which is the opposite of what this forum was set up to achieve!
Hi Rosy I'm afraid I can't be of much help but I'm following in case anyone has useful information - I have Hashimoto's and take 10mg Ramipril but it doesn't seem to be having much effect so the GP is adding Amlodipine. Hoping it works with no side effects!!
Hi Amiodipine did work for me but my legs were very swollen so I was switched to lacidipine (same class of meds) but that, I think triggered the SVT. I'm now starting a very low dose of candasartan- which didn't do much before but I didn't have extremes of BP with it so fingers crossed I'll let you know if it works!
