I spent a year or two on Ramapril with a dry cough. I was changed to Candesartin last year but have suffered from Cold/flu like symptoms, post nasal drip/phlegm ever since.
All test show negative for reflux/ulcers and sputum. Has anyone else had this problem and successfully or changed medication?

I took Candesartan several years ago but they didn't help so it was changed to Losartan. What a nightmare they were. Had what I thought was sinusitis followed by chest infection three times in just over three months - my GP gave me amoxicillin each time which began to not work on the third lot. It wasn't until I was taken off and all the sinus problems stopped that I realised what the actual culprit was. My husband years ago took Telmisartan for about 2 or 3 years. During that time he suffered terribly with his sinuses and chest and snored terribly, something he had never done before. Eventually he was taken off due to a problem with the drug and put on something else. His sinus problems disappeared and his snoring stopped completely. He is now on Candesartan and whilst he sometimes sounds sinsusy, it is nothing like he used to be and also it is nowhere near as bad as the Telmisartan but he still does get bad sniffles every now and then.
I was taking Atenolol in the beginning but I can't remember the side effects of that. You could always look them up on Google, Drugs.com are good but there are others where you can get the side effects.
I had a similar problem and I am now on Irbesartan it is much the same but a bit more tolerable. I also have a bit of muscle and joint pain but with what is going on just now I feel it’s not much to suffer. Hopefully when all this is over we can maybe get things sorted out.
Hi started on these after mild heart attack they think ! with a calcium channle blocker and yes feel like a post nasal drip n tickly cough yet told not a side effect of my gp
