had terrible headaches for years. High blood pressure and prescribed Felopodine and after 3 weeks my stomach was in agony and my bowel, lower left and too. It was like being in child labour. Doctor gave me antibiotics and anti-inflammatories and come and go when eaten. Having soup and plain cake and weetabix. I have diverticular disease and I read the Felopodine is suspected of making this flareup. It did not say in the leaflet in box!! I have been unwell for 2 months now.

I was then given Ramipril and that mentioned gallbladder probs.

I also read that Felopodine is a calcium channel blocker, whereas Ramipril is an ACE inhibitor, but a calcium channel blocker was mentioned. Is this right.

I feel like Felopodine has taken 2 months of my life, not able to eat properly, not going out and in extreme pain.

Anyone else had this with Felopodine.

I just want one that will NOT affect my stomach/diverticular disease. I am scared to eat.

Advice would be nice.

With these problems I think you should return to your doctor. There are many meds that can lower BP, it's just finding the right one. I had both which you've mentioned but now take Losartan with no problems at all.

Thanks been back to docs and stopped taking them. I have not got one yet as I am so concerned I will end up ill again. Felopodine has to do with diverticular disease which I have so it must have brought an episode on. I have thought about Losartan and when my tum healed will look into this. Thanks.

and while you are waiting for the doctor, have a look at the website of the specialist charity Blood Pressure UK.

Hello there, Its very difficult to find tablets when you have other illness. My suggestion is you need more specific help , have you tried the British Heart Foundation they have lots of advice on Blood pressure Treatment. Some GPs have local blood pressure clinics that deal with pateint problems. The British Heart foundation can be found on line. Hope this helps.

Yes, I am investigating but having diverticulitis extensively I am told is worrying me as to which one would actually not make me ill again. Pain was like being in child labour!!

hi - sorry to hear of your troubles - I take Ramipril and it is an ace inhibitor that relaxes the blood vessels but I can’t be much help beyond that

Depending on your circumstances you (like all of us) may want to look at lifestyle choices that may link to high bp too

Best of luck

I had Felopodine for a month. Was in agony so stopped them. I read article they are looking into Felopdine being associated with diverticular disease so I am not taking again as I have diverticular disease. GP not heard of this. Trying Ramipril now 5 mg. hopefully no stomach probs.
