I’ve recently been put on a third tablet, actually changed from indapamide to Moxonidine, but my BP is still unchanged after a few days. What’s your experience on this?

How long for BP to come down
Nobody has replied to you, Geronima, perhaps because no readers of this website has come across this particular problem, and we don’t know what else you are taking nor your medical history, height and weight, age and lifestyle. What do the pack inserts of the medication say? Maybe have a chat with your pharmacist?
A further thought, Geronima. Blood Pressure UK is a good resource.
I didn’t have a BP machine at home when I first started therapy. I started first on a diuretic and went back to docs for BP test a week later, and it was down to normal, from about 185 systolic. Three months later I had a further reading which was too high and a beta blocker was added. Again a week later the pressure was back to normal. At age 60, ten years later, I was switched to a different regime as NICE had come out with new recommendations , no change to my readings.
So in essence my BP was normal a week after starting or changing therapy. But I was on a different regime from you and younger. I don’t imagine individual reactions to medication are a very good resource for you. Your nurse/doctor/pharmacist/chosen charity would have access to an amalgamation of results which would be more useful for you in my view.
Thanks Happyrosie that’s quite quick your BP down in a week! I guess it does vary. Will report back to the GP. Thanks for your help.
It took my BP 2 months to settle down from >180 SBP to 125 SBP even with Amlodopine 10mg and Ramipril 2.5mg, it remained stubbornly high until I eliminated caffeine from my diet.Good luck.
