56 year old male. I take Tritrace/Rampril 10mg evening and Zanidip 10mg morning.
My Blood Pressure readings are a lot higher on my right arm?? For example 115/80 on right arm vs 120/94 on the left arm.
I exercise a lot daily and eat well. Google says I have isolated diastolic hypertensionI don’t smoke and fairly thin but could lose 5kg to get to ideal bmi.
Any advice on why it may be higher on 1 arm? Should I be worried?
Thx in advance.

I’ve a vague recollection that this issue is covered somewhere, it’s either on 1. the NHS website - put hypertension into the search - or on 2. Blood Pressure UK website, or
3. NICE website, again search for hypertension
In any event, if you’re not familiar with Blood Pressure UK it’s well worth reading.
Hi Mr Fizz, I have often found this but I don’t think it is anything to worry about 😊
Sometimes Dr Google causes unnecessary angst...fluctuations can occur just through anticipation... if you are right handed..your arm will be more developed than your left ...bigger musculature.. hence more tightening can occur as the cuff inflates...therefore higher readings..try to stick to the one arm...like doctors do!...those are exceptable readings..and should not be giving you unnecessary anxiety.
From what I have read and understand from plumbing in general your blood pressure should be the same everywhere unless the flow is encountering some obstruction. From one arm across to the other is particularly worrying because it crosses arteries and veins which flow to and from the heart. My advice would be to see a cardiologist and see if you can get a scan which will pick up any narrowing of your vascular system particularly around the heart.
