Hi, good to know that you are feeling better and looking after yourself. I take amlodipine 5mg and losartan 25mg and, even though it took quite some time to begin to get used to the side effects, I have adapted to them now. I don't think anyone likes to take medication and if you can achieve what you want to achieve without meds then that is great!

It’s great that you feel good again. For me, I was so lucky that I had no side effects from drugs. I wouldn’t, again I’m speaking for myself, go without checking my BP every few months - again, if I find it’s a bit high I wait ten minutes and take it again, and down it goes!Best of luck, and keep walking!,

i have noticed not fell down or tripped since stopping the drug which i used to do , i would never take another bp drug again as i dont no anyone who is on them is healthy or suffers no side effects, i honestly think they were slowly killing me and after reading about calcium channel blockers today i think i am right, im 72 so they might have affected me different than a younger model but im very fit,not overweight but these pills brought me down to places i dont want to visit again mentally

I feel like you!! Only been on them 3/4 months. In my 5th different one after suffering awful side effects on every one. Fortunately I have a very patient understanding GP! Now on Lisinopril which I take at bedtime, been on it 10 days and have just started having a dry thickly cough 🙄 I’m just seeing if it will go if not I don’t know what the alternative is???? I’m not unhealthy or over weight I walk every day watch what I eat so to loose weight would mean going on a very drastic diet, maybe that’s the answer?

If high blood pressure caused you to feel ill maybe the horrible side effects would be worth it!!!

i use a resperate breathing machine, take turmeric in hot milk, eat beetroot, walk 6 miles a day but not at once, porridge with pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds, anything healthy but not in excess and keep moving, i still get odd side effects even a month after stopping them but nothing like when i was on them, i did amlodipine, bisoprolol, propranol, ramipril, docazosine all terrible side effects, i use to take a baby asprin a day and that lowered bp but stopped it when i went on bp meds, my pulse on bp meds was 100 to 120 resting, its now 60 to 70 when i use a resperate its 60 or below,

Amlodopine made me feel very ill. I persevered in line with medical advice, but eventually I was advised to stop taking it. I am never surprised when I read of others suffering unacceptable adverse reactions from this drug, but some appear to tolerate and improve/preserve their heart function.
