Pre operation assessment

Had my bp taken this morning and I was surprised at reading of 101/60. Nurse asked me if I often had low bp or symptoms of it like dizziness. I have given up alcohol until my operation is carried out and have experienced dizziness but my monitor at home showed reading of 135/90. Could this be faulty as it is over10 years?

Your home monitor could be faulty. In your position pre-Covid I would have it taken at your GP’s surgery a few times after having done it at home, or borrowed someone else’s. Or at your pharmacy

I thought it may be but need to check and it’s difficult at the moment with doctors surgery not seeing you. Am hoping to have a telephone consultation tomorrow but it may have to wait until after my surgery. However it is good news if monitor faulty as I can reduce my medication. Thanks for your reply 🙂
