not been sleeping hardly for last 8 months, roughly 2 hours a night if lucky since been on bp drugs, im now on 5mg amlodipine and whatever im on i dont sleep,im 72 so i suppose that does not help, i get up at 7 and bed at 10 every night and bike ride 3 times a day but feel tired all the time, eyes very tired,i tried a herbal sleep aid but did nothing, had night nurse last week and slept 6 hours but eyes tired all day then back to no sleep or the odd hour, doc wont prescribe anything, so wondering if its worth trying the one a night nytol not the herbal one, thank you

Check with a pharmacist first as there may be an ingredient in the Amlodipine that would react with the Nytol or vice versa. I don't know if there is but just as a precaution. You could also have a word with the pharmacist about your sleeplessness, they may be able to advise you. Good luck. x

There is medications that are safe to help you sleep. Talk to you doctor sleep is very important. I also do not sleep since taking channel blockers. They can cause insomnia. Or ask for a different doctor that will listen. Good luck

Hi Pete, before you buy Nytol speak with the Pharmacist. I used Kalms day and nighttime for years until I was put on BP meds and the Pharmacist told me never to take the Kalms nighttime with the BP meds as the combination was not good. I took her advice. Be safe, Maximonkey

It’s dreadful when u cannot sleep, it happens to me only once a month but it’s wearing all the same.

There is a mindful app that talks u through breathing exercises and calming techniques, it’s worth a try. Good luck.

I agree with Brisk61 - try deep breathing. I have not been a good sleeper - ever- but have to say that since using deep, mindful breathing, it has helped tremendously.

Lots of breathing videos on YouTube... search breathing for blood pressure or HRV (heart rate variance). Good luck & God bless!

I'm 9n Amlodipine as well, I've been on it for about 5 months. I sleep reasonable well, but not fantastically, sorry I don't have much I can help you with.
