Hydralazine is not a go to treatment for high blood pressure, do you know the reason for your doctor suggesting it?

Allergic reactions to all medications. All the common ones break out in hives.

I've also been prescribed Hydralazine for hbp. I also take losartan and metoprolol. I'm discontinuing doxazosin which wasn't controlling my blood pressure enough. This is frustrating because I follow all the lifestyle recommendations...exercise, low salt, weight control.

I start taking Hydalazine on Sunday...hoping for minimal side effects!

Have you started taking the drug yet?

I’m on an arb and having problems with. Have not started yet. Scared. Please let me know how it goes for you. No other medication is working for me. Please keep in touch

You were on an alpha blocker did it not work. Have you tried channel blocker and ace drug also. Do these not work for you or did you have problems with the drugs. Side effects from alpha drugs? Also maybe an option having a heck of a time.

I've been on calcium channel blockers...not sure why I was taken off. I've tried several diuretics, but they cause my sodium level to drop.

I took two 10mg doses of Hydralazine yesterday...I felt fine, no discernible side effects. I didn't take the third dose because my bp was already down to 106/65. Hope this helps!

Yes...it's working fairly well...a couple of minor spikes in my bp. But no side effects. So far so good. Thanks for asking! I take 10mg three times a day...I think spreading the dosage out minimalizes the side effects.

I have an update...the drug is not working as well to control my blood pressure...I've also felt light-headed and had diarrhea. I'll contact my doctor tomorrow about my concerns.

Thank you for letting me know. If you read reviews this drug has a lot of side effects. Good luck to you. Keep me updated. High blood pressure sucks. Take care.

Another update. A week ago Sunday, I woke with a fever and generally not feeling well. I went for a covid test which was negative. I was sick all week with a fever, chills, nausea, fatigue. I looked at the side effects of the drug and saw lupus-like symptoms. I also had a rash on my cheeks and the bridge of my nose. I call the doc...now off the drug and on to lasik...more side effects!

That’s crazy. Now what for high blood pressure.

I have bad skin problems that came about from taking my heart meds. I’m in Canada six months to year to see a dermatologist here. No private one like in the uk. These meds are not healthy. Keep in touch take care.

A low dose of lasix...diuretics always cause my sodium to go down so I'm not so sure about it. So frustrating! I've taken bp medication for years with no problems. Good luck in Canada (I'm in the US)
