What we do know about blood pressure it does fluctuate and stress can certainly raise your BP. I would take some readings at home over a week, first thing in the morning and before you go to bed, record the time you take the readings. Ifor they are still high, then go and see your GP, they may want you to wear a 24 hour blood pressure monitor, if the results are still high they should treat it with medication. I am on six different Blood pressure medications a d they are not working for me, the results of a 24 hr blood pressure monitor showed I had an average of 217 Systolic and 163 Diastolic, I am under the Cardiologist at the moment. Any I hope things improve.

Thank you for replying and for the advice which I will follow, my GP had said to do readings over a week. They are fluctuating, sometimes ok. wow, six is a lot, is that normal? So sorry they are not working for you....Hope the cardiologist finds the answer for you and you feel better. x

Hi six blood pressure medications is Abnormal, they have caused me alot of problems, in 2014, I was prescribed Amlodopine 10mg, over the course of a week my heart rythmn was beating very quickly. I could not take it anymore and dialled 999. The ambulance crew checked my BP which was 278/198 and my heart was beating at 242 beats per minute. I was blue lighted to hospital. On arrival I went into cardiac Arrest and spent time in a coma in intensive care.

Sounds really scary. Thank God you made it. Thanks for sharing your story. I wish I could help. I'm new to this because I was young when my relatives were being treated but I hope you are able to find and use all the resources available to you. X

Thank you so much for your very kind words, it really warms my heart to know that there are very kind decent people like you around. God bless you.

Gosh, I didn't think there was anyone worse than me. I don't know how your body tolerates as many as six different BP meds - mine can hardly cope with just one! Not surprised to hear about your horrid experience on Amlodipine - my hubby collapsed with total heart block and needed a pacemaker. Likewise our neighbour. I blame amlodipime. But hopefully that number of pills is reducing your BP to safer levels. My systolic is the bad one and has at times been over 200, but the most recent test showed low 170's, so my renal consultant has decided not to intervene ftb because of the risk of the meds to my already reduced sole kidney function. High BP is bad for kidneys as well so fingers crossed on that front. I do hope the cardiologist can come up with something to help you - there are trials going on in London at the moment, I believe, into some sort of insert into the body for controlling BP!
