Ambulatory blood pressure
Thank you for your post it brought a smile to my face even if somewhat unusual. Your blood pressure figures sound normal to me considering you have a previous heart attack history and are taking pills. How low do we need to go to have a low enough BP ????? My blood pressure was 112/65 this morning I did not even feel dizzy and was still breathing normal. I understood if it was that low I should ring 999. All this checking can cause confusion don't you think? enjoy this nice weather while you can.
Yeah it's very confusing esp as I have bradycardia so don't know if I'm feel sick nauseous from that or the BP pills as I really don't like taking them and I do think is it needed
I’ve just joined this high blood pressure forum, yours is the first post I’ve read on here, so thank you for making me smile!
I personally don’t think they’re saying your blood pressure readings are worrying, and they’re certainly not looking alarming, but I guess in line with latest medical wisdom, they ideally want it a little lower to be more protective of heart and circulation health.
Sorry if this is a silly question, but I presume you are taking your current BP meds as prescribed? I ask because I used to work in a doctors surgery and discovered that very many people don’t! (And then their doctors increase their medication, assuming it’s not effective enough 😁)
Personally I have had some very high 24 hour ambulatory readings and I tend to go with their advice because I really want to get my BP down. But I’d also want to chat with my GP to understand more about the new meds if I were you.
I agree to avoid Dr Google at all costs!!
Edit to add- Hope the loop recorder proves helpful. I’m so thankful I was given one. Brilliant for diagnosis and peace of mind!
Thanks for your reply I'll be honest I went through a phase of not taking my tablets for a bit depressed but what I've done first week I had 4 mg of perindropril and then week after the 8mg but I need to have a word with them as I won't take amlodipene due to them making my feet swell up like a balloon 🎈 couldn't even get me trainers on
a delicate point, but maybe your lifestyle has something to do with your slightly high pressure. Attention to diet (plenty of veg, forget ready-meals) and plenty of water to drink. Amongst lots of other things.
