Urodynamics

I'm writing on behalf of my husband. Has anyone had experience of a Urodynamic and did the results give the consultant a clear next plan of action? He gets up to pee 3 or 4 times a night and sometimes in the evening and gets pressure in the bladder. Initially a TURP or green light laser op was recommended but then after a second opinion said he was too young at 52 they said investigation with a Urodynamic first. He's gone into retention several times and this is what we fear and want to avoid again.

Hi i would lock your post also before going to in depth or will be all over the net.

Ive had Urodynamics a few times due to have it re done once allowed out?

Last time was done wireless wire you up/in then send you off on your way round hospital drinking fluid all the time till you scream for mercy! lol

They will tell you if just to go or measure out flow etc then they will read back via PC one used was touch screen he zoomed in on a section spread it with two fingers and found something.

But the test is only as good as the person/people doing it.

A Natural resource for Prostate is Natural or micronised Progesterone.

Got to learn about it where an elderly couple wife was using the cream for HRT Husband was rubbing it in for her then after a while found his Prostate issues went away!

But most don't want us learning this because Med.co want you taking there pills as $$$ for them but gives us more issues.

I do lot's of Research/digging

The poster's post does not enable people to identify who has written it, so there is no need for secrecy. In fact, the more people who can see our posts and find their way to this forum, the better! We can all help each other by sharing as much knowledge as possible.

Hey so I had one done a few years ago. Had to drink 1 pint of fluid an hour before, made sure I had no UTI prior to the test and also had to make sure I stopped taking certain medication for my OAB.

I had to empty my bladder into a special toilet to check my urine flow. Then they put tubes into your bladder and rectum etc and wired me up (put local anaesthetic gel on me first) and then filled my bladder up until I felt I couldn't hold going to the toilet anymore. Then got me to empty my bladder in the toilet in the room.

Got told the outcome pretty much there and then what they thought it probably was by nurses really but result did got straight to consultant for them to tell me and they decided what the plan was to do next.

Thats helpful thanks. Did you have any after affects? My partner is concerned about retention afterwards as he cant hold much urine. Hoping he will remember to point that out before the procedure starts.

Thank you. I was entered to compete in my local hospital's Urodynamics last April, 2020, but covid cancelled it. A year later it is still to be rescheduled. Meanwhile I wait for second-best, a phone call from the urologist in July! I expect to be prescribed another drug 😩

On this website you are ANONYMOUS! If you lock your posts then needy people out there in the world will not find this website. You can NOTHING to gain by keeping your condition secret. Just don't give details of your identity in what you write in posts.
