Hi all, have been for my urology appointment this morning and after all previous treatments failing my next referral is for an infection in my spine... was a lot to take in so can’t remember the medical term for it but has anyone else had this done and can let me know the official name for it?
Spinal injection : Hi all, have been for... - Bladder Health UK
Spinal injection

no I've never heard of that one what does it do?
Blocks the nerve for the urgency to go so I’m told.. it’s getting into the final things of what to do for me now as nothing else has been successful. The other 2 options are taking some of my bowel out to expand the bladder and the other is to have a permanent bag which I really don’t want as I’m only 35
Thank you Mel that's interesting, I've got a bag (assume you mean supra pubic catheter) and no it's not great but you can have with just a valve rather a bag x
I wish I’d got the consultant to write down the name of the procedure as can’t seem to find any details of it at all. May I ask how it affects you Margot? I’ve had a flip flow catheter for several weeks in the past so I’m presuming a supra pubic is similar although comes out of your side rather than your urethra? X
Hi Mel yes that's right needs a small op to insert it, well I'm going to honest I know a lot of people think it's wonderful but I hate it often uncomfortable, fairly frequent utis and had to have botox injections on top to stop bypassing which was horrendous, if there's an alternative I'd love to hear about it
I’ve had Botox, cystastats, countless tablets, bladder stretches and so many UTIs I’m now becoming resistant to antibiotics. I’m literally at the end of my tether and also on top of being anaemia, having endometriosis and now after an A&E visit on Sunday morning I now have an internal bleed that they can’t find! I need a new body! I will keep you updated with spinal injection details.
