Hot Flashes

Hi

I've started to have hot flashes since starting regular cardiac meds since HA in December, I notice especially if I have a glass or two of white wine, a sort of prickly heat around the chest/throat/neck.

Not sure what the mechanism of these new flashes is (if anyone knows please educate me!), the answer is rather obvious in terms of not having a drink anymore but...

Anyone else experienced this?

Meds:

Atorvastatin

Aspirin

Bisoprolol

Clopidogrel

Ezetimibe

Isosorbide Mononitrate XL

On March 6 I'd been working in the garden and came in for a drink. My shoulder blades started to itch, then the top of my body and scalp, I had a hot flush all over my torso, mottled skin and pounding heart beat. (I'm a fella, by the way.) It lasted about an hour. I'm on Clopidogrel, Ramipril and Simvastatin and had had a small glass of red wine the night before. I did wonder if pollen might have contributed to an excess of histamine, but the day before I'd also had a massage that might have been too vigorous - one is cautioned against a deep massage if one is on anti-coagulants and blood-thinners. And my blood pressure soared,though it seems to be gradually coming down.

I've had a small glass of red wine and medium massage many times since my TAVI without problems, but perhaps this time it went a bit too deep.

I am mainly dealing with an overheating, sweating episode often at least once during the night. Sadly disturbs sleep and cannot settle again until my body has cooled off. Often I end up reading until my mind and body settles.

I have rightly or wrongly assumed it was heart meds causing this. Do not like it and wish it did not happen. Mine is not releated to alchohol intake.
