I am under the impression that I need to continue taking Ticagrelor(blood thinner ) for 12 months after Bypass surgery date ?
However Today I have had an appointment with a Cardiologist who stated that it is 12 months after my initial NSTEMI ? (which was around 6 weeks prior to surgery )
So whilst I appreciate and understand why im taking all of my meds am equally keen to end certain meds if and when advised ...
Can any of you knowledgeable kind folk tell me which version is correct please ?
Kind regards

Thanks for your supply ..I'm on 90mg twice a day for 1 Yr...my confusion is when did the 1 Yr start ? ...the cardiologist I spoke yo yesterday said it was 1 Yr since my Nstemi incident ...Which was around 6 weeks prior to my bypass operation ....
My prescription (online with my GP) states definitively when it will cease. I was on 90mg for 12 months and then a further 24 months on 60mg. Imo it runs from when you first started the meds.
I’m no expert, but I reckon the rest of your meds you’ll be on, in various combinations, for the rest of your life. I’m just happy they are improving my quality of life for whatever time I have left.
Hi Pete Well ....you are correct..printed on prescription ..( 1 year post op ) ...so my cardiologist may have been having a senior person moment ? Lol..Seems I shud have gon to specsavers too..lol..thank you ..
