I'm kinda ok with food i have 2 boiled eegs half slice wholewheat toast morning low fat cups soup afternoon then my new meal is broccoli in the blender along with carrots onions garlic 3 eggs blitzed all together olive oil in frying pan and bake that's for tea but because of menopause if I slip one day that's it I pile weight on 🤷‍♂️

That doesn't sound like very much , and a lot of eggs.Not that eggs are bad , as they were once thought to be , but there isn't very much nutrient variety in what you are eating , and not so much fibre.

Cup soups , even low calorie ones aren't nutritional and often contain a lot of salt, so my opinion would be maybe not everyday , or have something else with it.

The thing is , if you eat too little and never change your food routine , you do actually plateau in weight loss or can gain pounds. Your body goes into conservation mode and your metabolism slows down then it ends up trying to store whatever it can when you do eat a little more. You also start to produce less enzymes when you aren't using them , so you end up absorbing less nutrients and store more fat. Plus you get more digestive symptoms when you do eventually eat something different because of that lack of enzymes to help to metabolise the food properly.

Not having enough complex carbs , vitamins and fibre during menopause can make the symptoms worse.

And if you don't get enough B Vitamins and fibre it can cause more insulin resistance than you usually get in menopause which in itself causes you to start to lose muscle and get fat distribution in unusual places like the front stomach , face and back.

You could try making a big pan of veggie soup with lots of green vegetables but also something like squash, swede , a few unpeeled potatoes and a few handfuls of grains , chickpeas, mixed beans or buckwheat.

Or add some protein and calcium to your diet by adding poached chicken

You could add a small portion of carbs to your omelette meal or a big mixed salad. Try not blending the vegetables.

Add some yoghurt and berries, some almonds etc.

It really depends on how much weight you want to lose.I look at Weight Watchers and I find that the style of eating seems pretty heavy.

You might be better having a look at some of the free recipes from Micheal Moseley, his Fast 800 recipes are varied and nutritious.

Diabetes UK also has an extensive recipe section.

Just experimenting with recipes using healthy foods you love is a good start. Find yourself a 'Diet for Life' that you can sustain but most importantly enjoy.

As long as you eat less calories each day than you use you will lose weight in a way that it is more likely to stay off even if it happens slowly.

While you are trying to lose some weight remember you may not be able to lose a few pounds of medication induced weight.

Unless you are on medications that require less calcium remember you do need this from food during menopause to help maintain your bones and prevent the risk of osteoporosis.

Stsrvation mode is not a thing , no prisoners ever gained weight or plateaued when their calories were restricted . You won’t gain fat because of one meal , you may well retain water due to carbohydrate and salt in your foods.. cuppa soups are high salt. Just eat a normal varied diet, enough to suit your general activity . Plenty of info on the BHF website regarding recipes , meals , health. 👊🏻

Soup--is a NO-NO, unless it is home made. All kinds of unhealthy ingredients for anyone, and especially a cardiac individual. Too much Salt, and all the other unmentionable ingredients. But home made soup is great. We make a big pot of soup, about a gallon or more. Freeze some if you want. With over stocked ingredients--makes a meal on its own. Pay attention to the label on the can and you will not buy that. Last I heard is a few eggs a week is okay, I do not have more than that. Definitely not daily.

I do not want to turn this forum into a cooking receipt reference. But in making soup I make sure that ALL ingredients are healthy. I am sure there are many suggestions on the internet. I especially like a cabbage base soup, easy to make, and I add a drop of cut up meat or chopped meat. Since I now restrict myself to rarely having red meat, when I say a drop I mean maybe a cup full to a large pot of soup (2 gallon pot maybe). Beef barely soup is great also for me.
