Coated aspirin. Before or after food?

Hi all. As the title says.

With coated baby aspirin I have read that it may be better taken first thing in the morning before food as the PH levels in the stomach are low.

On the makers instructions they leave it very vague.

"Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. Do not chew or crush it." That's it! Everywhere I look online it seems to refer to dispersible aspirin. I have been given ppi's to take to help with acid but that's not the point.

I have been on them for a while now and the indigestion is better than with dispersible.

I realise they break up in the bowel rather than the stomach which is why I asked to have them. As I always have had a problem with acid. (Hiatus hernia)

Has anyone any knowledge of how these should be taken. I would ask a GP if they weren't all still hiding under thier desks.

Ta.

Ask your Pharmacist.

Amazed your GP's have time to hide under their desks, in my Practice they are way too busy to find time for hiding.

I would also suggest you check with the pharmacist. The additional label added by the pharmacy on my gastro resistant aspirin does not indicate a time of day.

I take mine after breakfast, don't dissolve even if dispersible - pharmacist said that was ok

Take one daily about the same time, that's the only thing to be considered.

I take the coated aspirin as I had to much pain from the dispersible ones. I wasn't given a time to take them, just same time as the others, first thing on a morning before breakfast.
