If you are taking an anti-platelet like low dose aspirin or clopidogrel (and perhaps anti- coagulants) you may find you have a tendency to bruise more easily or cuts need longer to stop bleeding, compared to when you weren't taking them. And the older you are the worse it gets. I have certainly noticed this as I am now taking daily aspirin . Typically I have only got to catch something hard with my arm or hand and I have a massive bruise which can take days or even weeks to go away.
Afraid this is one of the side effects of being on blood thinners! I have been on them for nearly 9 years and sometimes my arms look like I have been in a fight 😂 found just scratching an itch and whoops another lovely bruise.

This will happen on some heart medications especially clopidogrel. If you so much look at a picture of a hard surface or pass within half a mile of one you will come up with a bruise.
They became much better after I stopped clopidogrel a year after my surgery.
I was taking Ticagrelor for 12 months after heart attack/bypass & bruised really easily. However, the bruising has stopped now since I stopped taking that medication. As others have mentioned it is a side effect with some of the prescribed meds.
I had ticagralor for 12 months after heart attack and stent and the bruises I had were weird and wonderful! Even simply scratching an itch led to a massive angry looking black and purple bruise. The way I looked at it is that it was doing its job x
Me too. Ticagrelor was the culprit. 🤗
