Bruising and blood thinners

Hi all. Went rock climbing 10 days ago. Bashed my left leg a bit and of course on aspirin and clopidogrel the bruises are magnificent. The photo isn’t very good but the whole of my lower leg is green. Not unusual in those drugs but the bruises are still sore and don’t seem to be getting better. Has anyone heard that there is the possibility of blood clots from the bruising? I didn’t think there was but in another heart forum someone said there was. That person also talked about bleeds in the brain after a relatively small knock in the head. He was a jolly person 🤣 full of hope haha. Anyway My hope is he is wrong so I thought I’d ask the experts 😀 not been to GP yet but will do if in two weeks nothing changes.

Impressive but normal. Turning yellow is usually a sign that your body is healing from trauma. ... As your bruise fades, it takes on a yellow tint. This is because the biliverdin breaks down and produces bilirubin..Just the bruising breaking down

Hatchjd has said it all 😊. Maybe give your pharmacist a call or have a chat with her/him to see if Arnica would help. Typical of my bruises when I was on dual anti platelet therapy after my heart attack + stent.

And - forgot to say - bruises don’t lead to clots in arteries.

Thanks - I have tried arnica. it might have helped - not sure. I guess the colour isn't what is worrying me. Its the fact that the bruises still hurt after 11 days. But maybe I'm just being a soft lad

Hi I think I’d go to doc or or A&E just to get it checked. Better safe than sorry. My body of full of bruises with aspirin & Clopi.
