I would like to thank everyone who has replied to my recent post about the pros and cons of taking Magnesium Taurate. I am overwhelmed by all the comments and support I have received. It is great to know there are so many friendly, helpful people out there and my apologies if I have missed replying to anyone. I will not be stopping my current prescribed medication before consulting a GP (if I can manage to make contact with one!) but I have taken onboard all of your various comments. I wish you all well and would like to thank you once again for all your support and friendship. With my very best wishes x

Overwhelmed

hi Rainyday, just to say hope you get sorted very soon it would be nice to know if you do get chance to speak or f2f with your GP (would be better still) about your concerns, in the meantime I’m sure everybody on here has said the same thing so sorry if I’m stating the obvious! But a chat with your pharmacist would I’m sure help - take care 😊
I had a look back at your earlier post and replies. Your gp appointment system raised a smile! If only my surgery had an online system like they used to .
No. If you phone at opening time, 8 am, you get a message saying all appointments for that day have gone, and that’s the end of the call. If you phone a bit later they say you must speak to a care navigator (=receptionist) between the hours of x and y. And those hours have now passed.
Or you read on their practice leaflet on-line a bit which says you can fill an online form called “e-consult” which takes several minutes to fill in, when you’ve got it ready to send they say they’ve reached their target for the day so cannot accept it.
Or you phone, they say you are thirtieth in the the queue. When it gets to you, you get cut off.
The only way we can get attention is to call in to the surgery. This works well!
Hello happyrosie1, I totally agree with you - trying to get an appointment is a nightmare, although some people I know seem to have no problems, just ring up or walk in! My surgery uses the stupid e-consult online thingie. It “opens” at 7.30 am, so if you’re feeling bad, you have to drag yourself out of bed then sit for ages trying to fill in all the questions they should already know! You wade through to the end, to be either told there are no appointments left for that day, or as happened to me when my bp was so high - I needed to seek urgent help! How??? It’s so useless, no wonder our blood pressure is high these days. I was so fed up on one occasion, I called 111 who said they can usually get you an appointment “as a matter of urgency” Grrrrrr…..
That is lovely, how kind of you to write such a beautiful message of gratitude. Wishing you so well 💜💌
