Op Tomorrow, fingers crossed!

Hi All,

My surgeon has just been to see me and my op is rescheduled for first thing tomorrow. Seemingly it would have been cancelled anyway as there were two emergency transplants so no theatre for me. I hope that the transplants are successful and that the donor families take comfort from giving others a chance of life.

This will be sixth time lucky if you count the earlier shorter postponements. Keep everything crossed 🤞

Again, thank you everyone for your support, encouragement and love, we are all members of a very special family.

With love, Dory xxx💕

Thank you Shopgirl, one of the hardest things to accept in the world is that you are powerless over people, places and things. It’s taken a lot of ups downs in my life to grasp that. I’m not always good at accepting though.

With love, Dory xxx💕

Very wise words Dory. It's a good way to live life. It took me to reach 50 and needing open heart surgery to realise that!

Wishing you the very best for a successful op. Julia X

Dory I was scheduled for 2nd down on Wednesday 31st May. I had my antiseptic shower, they put my fancy socks on and I had taken my premeds, then they came and told me my op was cancelled. Apparently the lad before me had complications so the op took longer. Of course I was disappointed but understood. I have to admit I was worried they would send me home and I would go back on the waiting list. Luckily they delayed it for just 2 days (on the Friday). I don't know what was arranged as from what I knew my surgeon only operated at that hospital Tues, Wed and Thursdays. They kept me in and I was 1st down as scheduled.

Cancellations and rescheduling is quite common, the stress involved leading up to the op itself is huge but it will go ahead.......eventually.

Keep your chin up and if you have time let us know what is happening. :-)

Thank you Heather, it certainly does seem quite common, you don’t mnd when it is for something as amazing as transplants. Fingers crossed it will go ahead tomorrow. If it does it might be a while until I surface. Xxx❤️❣️💕
